An exceptionally well-restored French portico mantel clock of the Louis-Philippe period c.1840. The case of rosewood, inlaid with kingwood and strung with box-wood. Eight-day movement, striking hours and halves on a bell. Impressive pendulum and dial surround of gilded bronze. White enamel dial and Breguet hands. Very fine.
