Lenzkirch Bracket Clock.
A fine late C19th German 1/4 striking bracket clock by Lenzkirch (Black Forest) c. 1890.
Lenzkirch clocks are noted for the highest quality of movement and case design, particularly noted for the complexity of the cast mounts which adorn their cases.
Selected burr walnut case with stylised caddy top, carry handle, canted corners, flame finials and corner corbels. Very detailed grilles to right and left of case. In the English taste and most probably for the English market.
Elaborate arched brass dial, matted centre, silvered and engraved Roman chapter-ring and speed adjustment-bit in the arch, blued pointer and bblued steel halberd hands. Fine gilt spandrels cover most of the dial and arch.
Eight day duration, spring driven, pendulum movement, striking the quarters on 2 tuned gongs and the hours on a single gong.
In excellent order throughout. Case with deep patina.
